A Writers Reference

A Writers Reference

During my college years I had a great English professor that was very keen on helping us with the writing process. We wrote paper after paper, and it was at a point overwhelming, but I have to say it certainly paid off. It gave me a better understanding for the different types of writing and when to use certain words. She recommended a writing tool to me, that I still use to this day. It is the greatest reference out there and I feel that every writer should have a copy of their own.

I’m referring to something called ‘The Writers Reference Guide’. I’m not sure what edition is out currently, but I still use my edition from 2003 and I have yet to feel the need to upgrade. This reference guide looks like small, white notebook with binding in the center. The book is broken off into sections, making it easy to find what you’re looking for in a hurry.

The guide covers every aspect of writing, from research planning to brain storming. It gives times on creating a good draft and integrating sources into your paper. It covers the different types of writing styles, such as MLA and APA. The guide helps you with word choices and provides you with sample papers to use as a reference. What I’ve named is not even half of the information included in this guide. Purchasing this guide makes the writing process much easier and is sure to be something you will use over and over again.
